HOLD ON THOUGH YOU'RE
alone i am there with you, that much at least i can promise, you know
LIKES new friends, sharing prey, helping his Clan, seeing others happy, swimming, teaching others, play-fighting
DISLIKES feeling stupid, feeling alone, feeling scared, seeing others sad, being lazy/inactive, talking about serious things
HOPES become a trusted senior warrior & help the Clan as much as he can
FEARS his Clan getting hurt/the 'Rescuers' winning & meeting a Rescuer
PERSONALITY
friendly. The first thing that strikes anyone about Cressfur is that he is extremely friendly and outgoing. Never shy, Cressfur loves to meet new cats and make new friends. In fact, Cressfur considers everyone in the Clan his friends, even if they haven't talk to him before. Even if they hate him (though most cats like Cressfur). He never hesitates to talk to other cats at Gatherings, and loves evenings in his Clan, sharing tongues with Clan-mates and discussing the day's news.
goofy. Incredibly goofy, it seems that Cressfur does not have a serious bone in his body. It's true; Cressfur can find something hilarious about almost any situation, and it won't be long now until he starts making Rescuer jokes. Most of the time, his jokes aren't funny; they're the kind of lame puns that are so stupid they're kind of amusing. However, Cressfur has the unfortunate habit of cracking these lame jokes and then laughing.
stupid. Cressfur's not necessarily stupid, but he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. He's very unobservant and it takes him a little while to make connections and put things together. It's partly the fact that he doesn't quite care to think about the big things in life, and he never cares to plan ahead, but Cressfur just strikes many cats as quite dumb.
childish. Cressfur is extremely childish. First of all, he cracks extremely childish jokes. Also, he's squeamish about blood and gore. He's very innocent and trusting, and he loves to play games and have fun. Because of this, he often gets along with the apprentices and kits of the Clan as opposed to the warriors. Some warriors look down on him because of this.
trusting. Extremely innocent, Cressfur seems to think that cats are incapable of lying. He's extremely gullible and trusts strangers when he hasn't even met them. Evil cats and Dark Forest cats, to him, are like myths; very far away, and did they even exist?
curious. Curiosity could very well kill the cat, in this case. When Cressfur is curious about something, it is a strong pull of curiosity. When he wants to know something, he has to find out some way or other, even if it means following a cat around. Like a kit, he loves asking questions, too.
loyal. Being very loyal, Cressfur could never imagine betraying his Clan or the warrior code. Though he can be stupid or forgetful or childish, when it comes to protecting his Clan and ensuring the safety of his Clanmates, he's like a lion. He would gladly give his life for any one of his Clanmates.
courageous. This is very much tied to his loyalty. Cressfur is extremely brave when it comes to protecting his Clan and would do anything to make sure that they are safe, even if it means that he will die.
skilled. Forgetful and unobservant as he is, Cressfur has a lot of skill. When he really puts his mind to something, he most often gets it right. He is a great hunter and tracker, runs fast and has great stamina, and in battle he is an expert in the quick, dodging ways of RiverClan fighting. This is from good teaching as an apprentice and from Cressfur's mindset.
active. Lazy is one thing that Cressfur is not. He is always ready to wake up earlier than anyone else and go to bed later. In fact, if he's not doing something, he can get quite restless, like a kit. This means that he spends as little time in the camp as possible. This lets him get out his energy and help his Clan by hunting or patrolling.
fatherly. Cressfur loves kits, and young cats, or just cats that need coddling. He's the perfect one to do it. With a strong fatherly instinct, Cressfur just cannot turn down a cat in need of his help.
sympathetic. Cressfur is a great listener, and a great friend, because he's fun and happy in good times. However, more importantly, he's a sympathetic listener in bad times.

KNOW WHAT'S TO COME
do not accept this, though we're alone we must fight for each breath
HISTORY Overall, Crestfur's history is nothing special. Nobody he cared about died ,disappeared, went crazy, etc. He had a loving mother and father, three sisters with which he had the usual love and rivalry, and a stable Clan. But I'll tell the story anyway.
Thrushfeather and Leafnose were two cats deeply in love. It was only natural they had kits. Have kits they did, and as it was greenleaf and prey was plentiful, all three kits were healthy with no runt. Three girls; one brown tabby, one brown tabby and white, and one brown tabby with white paws. One boy; another brown tabby and white. The three kits were named Brindlekit, Duck-kit, Hazelkit, and Cresskit. Though he was the only boy, Cresskit never felt out of place among his sisters. They were a happy bunch, doing things that normal kits do; exploring and playfighting and challenging other kits. Leafnose was a good mother, though maybe a bit paws-off. She never reprimanded them, coddled them, or anything; rather, she watched from a little bit away as her kits entertained themselves, making sure they didn't get into too much trouble. As for his father; yes, he loved them, but he was a busy and important warrior. He visited them, but the visits were awkward, as he tried to act like he and his kits were close, but they didn't really know each other at all.
As the kits grew, their personalities began to come out. Brindlekit was a leader; she always knew what to do and had a charismatic quality that automatically drew others to follow her. Duck-kit was a charming little kitten who could talk her way out of any situation by forcing adults to contradict something they said earlier. Hazelkit was a shrill, bossy kit who was determined to become leader someday. Cresskit was the joker, the kit who barely fit into the group. But he did, and they loved him. Yes, they teased him and poked fun as most sisters do, but they were a great group.
Kithood came and went and it wasn't long before the kits became apprentices. By now, Cresskit's goofy and slightly stupid personality was well-known, so he was given a good mentor; a kind but serious she-cat called Rabbitstep. Rabbitstep knew exactly how to teach Cresspaw, by being kind to him but gently steering him in the right direction; reminding him of his task when he was distracted; encouraging him. Rabbitstep became more of a friend to Cresspaw than a mentor. He went to her when he had trouble with anything.
However, as most cats do around this age, Cresspaw also had his own crush. She was another apprentice named Rosepaw. They were very good friends, Rosepaw being friendly and funny. Rosepaw, however, was also a sarcastic, impulsive daredevil. She didn't quite care about rules or elders; she did her own thing. Rosepaw's independence had Cresspaw drawn to her like a moth to a flame. However, it was a quick little crush, though it was his first, ending as quickly as it came. He could remember the conversation still. The two were playing alone by the apprentices' den, impersonating a new pair of shy, lovestruck warriors. "I...I really, really like you," he mewed seriously, "Do you...like me, too?"
Then, Rosepaw laughed. "Ha! Yes, that's a perfect impression of Grayfur! Haha. Love is for idiots."
And that was it. The crush was gone. Cresspaw and Rosepaw, of course, remained friends. She was about the only she-cat he connected with, apart from Rabbitstep. He and his sisters were friends when they were kits, but now his sisters were slowly turning into extremely beautiful, highly intelligent she-cats and the tom-cats were all mooning over them. Rosepaw wasn't like that.
He remained friends with Rosepaw until the two of them and his sisters were turned into warriors. He was named Cressfur, Rosepaw became Roseheart, Brindlepaw became Brindlepelt, Duckpaw became Duckfeather, and Hazelpaw became Hazelnose. Since he became a warrior at 20 moons, things have changed. He's still quite good friends with Rabbitstep, who is an elder now. He has grown apart from Roseheart, who, like his sisters, suddenly became beautiful and intelligent. Since kithood, his sisters have changed; Brindleheart is still a leader, but she is more calm and full of wisdom. She is a trusted warrior, and is happily with a mate. Duckfeather is still charming, and she can still talk her way out of any situation, but as an adult she is sarcastic and witty. She is in the nursery with three healthy kits. Hazelnose realized that the only way to become a leader or deputy was not to be skilled or intelligent, but loyal to her Clan. She is a hard worker and a trusted warrior in RiverClan. Roseheart has grown; she gave up her rebellious ways after having a litter of kits, and is now a friendly, warm-hearted mother in her Clan.
Meanwhile, Cressfur is still the same cat he was thirty moons ago. Maybe his neverending loyalty to his Clan was made stronger, but he's still the same cat.
